Woodrow Wilson led the United States through the First World War and proposed the League of Nations, the first attempt at a permanent international body for preventing war. He is the only US president to have held a doctorate.

Facts
- As president of Princeton he introduced the preceptorial system of small-group teaching that the university still uses.
- The US Senate refused to ratify the treaty that created the League of Nations, so his own country never joined it.
- Princeton removed his name from its school of public affairs in 2020 because of his record on racial segregation.
